An historic landmark, our three-story clubhouse is a home away from home, complete with dining facilities, a friendly bar, meeting rooms, shower rooms and guest rooms for overnight stays. Built in 1927, the stucco structure has been described at various times as Spanish Mission, Spanish Colonial Revival and Spanish Mediterranean. Its traditional coral hue makes it a highly recognizable landmark on Galveston Bay.

With 27,000 square feet of space, the clubhouse can accommodate a wide variety of activities, from very casual to very formal. The grand stairway to the right of the spacious lobby leads you to the main floor. 

 With it's spectacular view of Galveston bay, the main floor provides many spaces and venues for members to dine and socialize. Many of the spaces are also used for club leadership and committee meetings.

Our casual area hosts Friday Night Happy Hours with complementary hors d''oerves and frequent live music. The adjoining bar is a great place to gather with friends for conversation or to watch sporting events. The adjacent outdoor deck is popular in summer with the evening breezes off the bay. The deck is also outfitted with heaters for those cooler months of the year. 

The main dining room is where members and their guests enjoy an extensive menu of old favorites and special offerings prepared by our chef. A wide selection of wines is available by the bottle or glass. The dining room is decorated with yacht club burgees from all over the world and plaques depicting the private signals of many members. The dining room also has a wonderful view of the harbor and bay.
 

For larger gatherings, our ballroom complete with it's stage, sound system, and variable lighting provides  a multipurpose space. The ballroom can be used for seminars, informal club activities, and regatta registration. But, it really shines when the staff transforms it for dinner dances, formal balls, and weddings.

In addition to the main ballroom, our Centennial Room and Commodore’s Room are perfect for small group or private meetings. The club has extensive presentation equipment available.

Above the main floor are 13 hotel rooms each with it's own bathroom. The rooms are uniquely decorated in a coastal beachy theme. The rooms offer plenty of space for the whole family to stay the weekend. 

To the left of the lobby you will find the "Inlet" also known as the Ragnot room which is a hangout and chalk-talk center for HYC's youth activities program. Heading down the breezeway, the Porthole is the place for really laid-back activities. With its modern bar and indoor/outdoor seating it provides a casual dining and meeting spot. The Porthole is located next to the pool area where food and drinks may be ordered to enjoy around the pool 
 

Our beautiful Olympic-size pool and surroundings provide an oasis that includes cabanas, in-water lounges, along with tables and umbrellas. There is also an adjacent shaded kiddy pool. Just opposite the pool are bathhouses with showers and changing rooms. A lifeguard is provided during the summer season. When the weather is mild, the area around our pool is popular for evening socials and cocktails. 

 

Across the lawn, adjacent to the Harbor, the Beachcomber is a large covered outdoor pavilion. It is the perfect venue  for many casual gatherings and club events held throughout the year such as the popular lobster and shrimp boils. Many of these events also feature live music and dancing.  With it's usual bay breezes, it is a popular place to gather for a cookout with your family and friends.
