The Houston Yacht Club welcomes members of reciprocal clubs, guests of our members and attendees at the many private functions hosted at the club. We are known for our hospitality, beautiful view and fine food. We will do everything possible to make your visit with us enjoyable and hope your stay with us will encourage you to come back again soon.

All Visitors

Visitors may use all of our facilities, including bar and food service, pool and waterfront facilities and wi-fi. Visitors may purchase club merchandise except blazer emblems. A 20% service fee will be added to all food and bar purchases. The sponsoring member must be present to host non-member guests. The house rules of the Houston Yacht Club must be observed. Casual attire is acceptable, but shirt and shoes must be worn at all times indoors. Never permitted anywhere in the Clubhouse are tank tops, cutoffs, wetsuits, foul weather gear, soiled working clothing, bathing suits or wet clothing. The club is a non-smoking facility except on boats.

Visiting Yachtsmen

Visiting yachtsmen should contact our office at 281-471-1255 to verify reciprocal privileges. Visitors from a recognized yacht club must present a current membership card or letter of introduction at check-in. You will be issued a guest card and charges will be billed to the visitor’s VISA or MasterCard. Cash and checks are not accepted. Visitors involved in open regattas must check in with the office.

The Club has hotel rooms available. The Front Desk will be pleased to provide details.

Arriving By Land

Private event visitors should check with the event coordinator or their sponsoring host for arrival times and other details about the event. If you are arriving by car, you must check-in at the gate to be admitted. Event visitors planning to arrive by boat should make arrangements with the event coordinator ahead of time so that we may accommodate your vessel.

Arriving By Sea

Transient vessels are all visiting vessels that come into the Houston Yacht Club Harbor not assigned a permanent slip whether owned by a Club member or non-member. All such vessels must secure an assigned slip from the Harbor Manager.

As you arrive in the vicinity of the Club, please contact the Harbor Manager, Philip Meeker, at 281-471-1255 or 936-581-4581 or VHF Channel 72 to arrange dockage. Prior arrangement is encouraged. Slip reservations may be made with the Harbor Manager but are available only on a non-interference basis with Club activities and member usage. Boat slips are available only to members of reciprocal yacht clubs, not the general public.

After tying up at the guest dock or assigned slip, please visit the Harbor office promptly to register. Note that the guest dock is for temporary use only.
After registering with the Harbor office, please visit the front desk during business hours to present your yacht club affiliation card and receive a guest card and information about visitor rules and privileges.
Bring your yacht club membership card, boat registration and insurance documentation.
If you arrive after regular business hours you may check-in the following morning.
All transient vessels will be charged a flat $50 per day dockage fee. Exceptions to the dockage fee:
- Vessels owned by members of Lakewood Yacht Club or Texas Corinthian Yacht Club upon showing proof of affiliation.
- Vessels participating in HYC sponsored or approved regattas.
- At the discretion of the HYC General Manager, Harbor Manager or Commodore.
All visiting yachts must identify themselves by flying their yacht club burgee.
All vessels must have holding tanks. The Club provides adequate restrooms.
No vessel repairs of any kind are permitted without the express permission of the Harbor Manager.
