Women's Sailing Is Strong At HYC

Calling all women who want to have fun on the water -

If you have a sense of adventure or are at all competitive, women’s sailing at HYC can open a new world for you. Perhaps you never thought of sailing before, but now is your opportunity, and you don’t even have to own a boat. Choose whether you are interested in learning or improving your boating skills, racing at all levels, or just friendship with other women who enjoy being on the water.

Houston Yacht Club has a long tradition of supporting women’s sailing, including being one of the first yacht clubs in the nation to offer a residential women’s sailing camp. The HYC Women’s Sailing Association (WSA) was formed over 40 years ago to offer a comfortable, supportive environment for women on the water. WSA organizes racing, social and educational events throughout the year… sometimes formal, sometimes informal, but always fun. Please join us, meet other HYC female sailors and non-sailors and find out about the rich history of this lively group!

Each year, WSA hosts Windward Bound Women’s Sailing Camp, teaching women to sail in a stress-free environment that promotes the camaraderie of sailing. For more information, Click Here.
