Our members enjoy facilities that rival the world’s leading Yacht Clubs, including a 27,000-square-foot clubhouse, four acres of grounds, 185 boat harbor, immediate access to Galveston Bay, year round boating and a youth sailing program that is second to none. We are committed to maintaining the tradition and character of our world famous facilities and providing our members with every modern convenience.

Community & Social Events

Celebrate exclusive events for Members Only on holidays and throughout the Year to celebrate traditions and good ol' fashion fun! Club facilities can also be reserved for your business or private events at a discounted rate. With full catering and event services, we're here to make your meeting easy to plan & special for your guests.  

Boat Slip and Harbor Facilities

For members with boats, our Club has covered sheds (with and without slings) and fixed and floating open slips in a wide variety of sizes. Parking lot storage and boat lockers are also available. All slips are individually metered for electricity. Members have unlimited, free use of our pump-out facility, and our in-harbor fuel dock offers reasonable rates on both gasoline and diesel. We also have a long guest pier for visiting boats.


Women's Sailing Camp

Women's Sailing Association offers a three-day camp each summer where women learn to sail or improve their skills from other women. The emphasis is on safety, on-the-water time and fun.

Youth Sailing Program (Ragnots)

HYC has one of the most acclaimed youth sailing programs in the country. The Ragnots sail throughout the year and hold several sailing camps in the summer. The focus here is on discipline and teamwork, as well as enjoying a variety of water-related activities.


Race Management

HYC has a long tradition of outstanding race management and has received the prestigious St. Petersburg Trophy twice. In addition to conducting club and area regattas, HYC typically hosts two or three national and international racing events each year. Becoming involved with the race committee and race management at HYC is a rewarding way to contribute to the sailing community.


Whether you want to race your own boat or join in as crew, HYC has many active and competitive fleets including PHRF, level 70, one-design and dinghy racing. Contact the HYC Office at 281.471.1255 for more information.


Reciprocal Clubs

Access many fine private clubs in Houston and throughout the country with your HYC membership. The reciprocal program gets you in. The reciprocal clubs in the local area include:

  • Texas Corinthian Yacht Club
As a member of the Houston Yacht Club, you also have access to all clubs listed in the Register of American Yacht Clubs. These include many well-known clubs throughout the United States. Additionally your HYC membership will provide you access to many yacht clubs internationally.
